Directly following Sunday worship service (at approximately 11:05am), join us for a time of fellowship where our in-person congregation and online viewers gather together to share what God is doing in our lives, lift up each other in prayer, and hear about the latest ongoings at LA Holiness Church.
The Rebrand:
In 2025 we rebranded the ministry time immediately following our worship services from 'Coffee Hour' to 'Share & Prayer' after realizing that the name, 'Coffee Hour', was likely a confusing and misleading label to visitors because coffee was not served during this time, and it was not an hour long. Those who have been longtime members of LAHC know Coffee Hour has evolved over the years, initially as a time of fellowship over coffee, then as a lunchtime, then as an online fellowship time on Zoom when church was fully online during the pandemic, and most recently as a time for our in-person and online attendees can connect in fellowship together, and share announcements, testimonies, and prayer. As such, the name, 'Coffee Hour', was likely a confusing and misleading label to visitors because coffee was not served during this time, and it was not an hour long. This is a ministry that is very unique to our church, so we’d like to change the name of this time to one that will better encapsulate what it has evolved to today.
A Refocus:
Coffee Hour has been more of an informational time with what we are doing within our church. We would like Share & Prayer to be more intentional about (1) connecting with one another as a church family, both for in-person and online attendees, and (2) being Christ-Centered. We want this time to be an invitation for people to share what Jesus is doing in our lives and in our community. We hope to move away from using the bulk of the announcements time to share about the facts of future church events (i.e. time, place, etc.), and instead spend more time communicating the heart of why the events we’re promoting are important and how God is using them to bless others. We’d also like to move away from sharing too much about the activities and details of things we did during the week, and instead focus on sharing testimonies that speak of what God has done in our lives, where we have seen Jesus in our lives or the lives of others, or where there is a need for prayer.
